¨ Members Present – John Davison (chair), Michael Colledge (Sec), Paul Armes, Paul Davison, Dennis Clark and Jimmy Colledge

 

¨ Apologies of Absence – Keith Armes, Mark Colledge, Eddie Buist

 

¨ Prior to meeting starting John wished everybody a happy and successful new year.

 

¨ Minutes of last Meeting – Minutes of last meeting passed as true record. Copy of minutes signed at next meeting.

 

¨ Matters Arising – No matters arising that will not be dealt with within the meeting agenda

 

¨ Statement of Accounts – Paul gave meeting a report in Keith’s absence. Current balance continues to look healthy and the club had a made a slight profit for the month of December despite it being a month where the club have always struggled due to the festive period.

 

¨ Sedgefield Mags Fantasy League – Paul gave an in depth report to the meeting and noted that this years cup competition was one of the closest in many years with 1 group having 3 teams on the same points and could only be separated on points scored. Manager of the month for December was Paul Armes with 215 points. Jimmy Colledge still leads the way with 773 points just 2 points ahead of Neil Armes.

Transfer window is now open. Paul gave each manager a copy of their team, each team are allowed to make 3 transfers. Each outgoing player will be valued at his purchase price and each manager is also given an extra £5million all completed transfers must be with Paul no later than the next club monthly meeting.

 

Draw for the ¼ finals of the cup.

 

As with previous years the draw was seeded with the winners of the groups being drawn against runners-up, also no teams that faced each other in the group stages could play each other in the ¼ final.

¨ Premier League Sweep – Results for the 1^st set of winners are now in with Arsenal, Liverpool, Blackburn, Middlesbrough and Derby taking up the winning positions on Christmas Day. All those who are due winnings have been paid by Dennis with the exception of Gordon Richards who has not been on the bus since Christmas.

 

¨Man of the Match – All members present expressed on what a difficult choice this was for this month.

¨ Bus Times – Jimmy proposed that a new look at bus departure times be taken at the Annual General Meeting, due to the fact that there are now so many different kick off times and that maybe a standard departure time should be set for each game. The proposal is that the bus shall leave Sedgefield 2 hours before the advertised kick off time for any game s that kick off prior to 7pm. Any game that kicks off after 7pm will still use the old time scale of leaving Sedgefield at 5.55pm. Those in attendance were very supportive of this and it was agreed that over the next few months the club shall ask fellow bus users for their opinions on this. Michael then raised issue that this matter will need full clarification at the April meeting so that members can be informed of new bus times prior to the season finishing. Decision to be made on bus times at the April meeting.

 

¨ Stoke City FA Cup replay – Sedgefield Mags will not be running a bus to this match.

1/ Michael had received an e-mail from Simon Esland again just thanking the club for a wonderful evening and that he hopes to be back to us in the near future with some ideas on how a supporters club might be run. 

 

Quiz won by Den, Paul and John. However the quizmaster needs to point out that a mistake was made on 1 question where he failed to provide the full answer to the question and apologies to the other team for this failure.
