Bhagavad-Gita
Just before the epic battle at Kurukshetra Arjuna is struck with remorse at the
thought of regaining his kingdom
by killing his kin. He tells Krishna, his
charioteer, he cannot fight. Krishna's advice and guidance to Arjuna about
doing
his duty constitute the text of the Bhagavad-Gita.
Mahabharatha
Ganesha, the elephant-headed god, is believed to have written the MAHABHARATHA
to sage Veda Vyasa's dictation
on condition that his pen never stop moving.
Sage Vyasa agreed but specified that Ganesha would only write down
the verse
after understanding it completely. So whenever Lord Ganesha paused to consider
the verses,
Maharishi Vyasa would use the time to compose some more verses.
Ramayana
This is an epic made on the story of Lord
Rama, the 7th incarnation of Vishnu and hero of the Ramayana, with
His wife Sita and His brother,
Lakshmana. He was the ascetic king of Ayodhya, born to destroy
the demon-king
Ravana of Sri Lanka.
Krishn
Leela
On account of Lord Krishna's persuasion, the villagers had stopped
worshipping the Gods. Enraged, the gods showered
them with torrential rain for
10 days. They appealed to Lord Krishna to save them. And He lifted Mount
Govardhana as
an umbrella to rescue the entire village. Such similar short
episodes form the delightful Krishna Leela. Krishna was the
eighth incarnation
of Lord Vishnu. He brought about the doom of the demon king, Kansa Of Mathura City.
