It's quite a bit of work to add new locations to the map, so they tend to be added, many at a time in batch updates. In the meantime, this is an unedited page of locations received very recently. The intention is to add this information to the map on the next update. For the moment then, you can view the very latest info here.

Latest Locations :

Scotland (North)

Scotland (South)

North East

Around September to November time: On a golf course at a place called Nevilles Cross in Durham.  This site has only limited
numbers of caps; around 100 to 200 at a (every couple of rainy days) time depending upon who has already been there.

If you take a look at a map of Durham, and find the A690, or so called Durham road, (this in fact runs all the way from the coast in Sunderland), look at where the road runs through Durham city centre, and follow it all the way to Nevilles Cross. Stay on this road for a further 10-15 miles all the way through Meadowfield, Brandon, and out until you come to New Brancpeth. Apparently these villages which you pass also have thinking cap sites, but I think they get heavily picked by the locals.

North West

In East Lancashire (Nelson (Pendle)) The Marsden Park Golf Course is a major gold mine for Lib Caps

Nelson (Lancs) area, all around 'Coldwell' Reservoir, lib caps grow in their billions

Lime Park, between Buxton and Stockport

Yorkshire

Leeds : Recommend Boddington Halls (Leeds Uni) on the football pitches and surrounding fields.

West Midlands

Bircher Common, North of Leominster, North Herefordshire in the SW corner.

Westhope Common North of Hereford.

Kempsey Common south of Worcester.

Hereford : Near the city centre, In a little suburban, semi-detached, residential kind of place, there is a road called Ledbury road which runs away from Hereford towards a small town called Ledbury. Off this road there is another road called Church Road, which turns right off Ledbury road just before Ledbury road itself turns right and goes away to Ledbury. There is a war monument just where Ledbury road and Church Road meet up. Follow Church Road down untill you find a right turn called Quarry road, go up here and take your first right and park. This is where the quarry begins, now walk straight towards the football pitch which lies horizontal to you and go up to the top left corner, the quarry does continue on your left but there is a fence don't cross it, basically up in this corner past the pitch somewhere between the end of the pitch and the path which circles the quarry, found 20 short but large capped lib caps.

Hereford : Clee Hill

Dinedoor Hill in Rotherwas in Hereford, once found one big lib cap in a field on the way down, have heard since that is a fair place.
Also in a cow feild out near Mordiford, Hereford, found 1 there too.

East Midlands

Lincoln : The best place to find them is the West Common. The best way to find this is from the A46 Lincoln bypass take the exit marked Lincoln Central. On the left hand side is the common where plenty of mushies can be found. You will know you are there because on the right-hand side of the road is an old grandstand. Beware - horses will take a great interest in what you are doing.

In Nottingham in an area called Clifton there is a walkway/public foot path thing called the Trent Greenway cos its near the River Trent. You can get to the footpath by going to Clifton Village, a residential area. The beginning of the path is a down hill gravel stone path, follow it down keep walking. There are many turnings off from the path including one which follows the river Trent, don't take any of these. Instead keep on the path straight ahead. After you come out of Clifton Wood, a small sycamore wood you will come out into the clear and you will see acres of pasture land, cross a farm road and continue down the foot path on the other side. Now the footpath has feilds with cows to its left, they are really hilly and only fenced with a small barbed wire fence. From here on its up to you, I kept going right to the edge of this feild where the path meets another stile and got into the field here in the furthest away lowest corner. Here you are partly sheilded from sight by the hills. Within 10 feet walking or so i had found 10 pretty lib caps, part sun dried, I looked up saw the farm-hand and he just opened the gate and set out his dog, oh my god was I scared. But I know my dogs and its a very friendly spaniel of some sort. Just be careful here, go early, I went at 4 o clock in afternoon or so.

The Roaches in Derbyshire near to Leek. always reliable, I am sure that the surrounding area is rife too.

North Wales

Mid Wales

South Wales

Around Swansea: Favourite places are the sloping hills around Neath and on the Gower - particularly on
the golf course. - Be careful not to go too near the farm at the bottom of the hill in Neath, I've been shot at before.
Mainly liberty cap but all other types are present as well.

South Wales - Twm Balwm mountain near Cwmbran

A good one is in a large field adjacent to Llandegfedd Reservoir near Coed-y-paen, east of Pontypool in Torfaen (old gwent). Park up in the big picnic site ( at the east end of the dam ) and follow the track running northward (along the edge of the water) for 200m and you get into a the field , in the middle of the field is a single old oak tree - you can't miss it (GR 332 988 ).

Near Llanfihangel Crucorney which is 5 miles north of Abergavenny, Monmouthshire. Heading north from Abergavenny on the A465, turn off left after 5 miles at Llanfihangel and follow the road towards Llanthony Priory ( its the road to Hay Bluff ), after 2 miles there is a pub on the rhs called the queens arms/head ,immediately on your left is a car park ( don't park here ! ) with a lane going up the steep hill, turn off up here , go up the lane to the very end and there is gate. On the other side of the gate the track continues and it is grassy on the lhs and there are large quantities of shrooms ( GR 295 222 )! every year guaranteed, pickin within 5 yards of the gate you can get off your head twice !!!! Just dont block the lane when you park.

Gloucestershire

Somerset

Cornwall

At Lands End, before you go into the awful Lands End theme park thing, there is a pub on the right. Park there, and go in the field next to it. Absolutely stuffed with caps, but you are overlooked by a bungalow. Went mid november last year and wasnt bothered by anyone.

If u got to where the lizard festival was held the field is teaming with liberty caps, but please take care - don't make much noise.

Dorset

Buckinghamshire

Berkshire

More on Crowthorne :

Finding the A.Muscaria wasn't really a problem. The red stood out really well against the woodland. Just wandered around with my eyes open. There were quite a lot of another type of red mushroom (Smaller, and without the spots), but I've got absoloutly no idea what they were.
If you continue quite a way into the woods, you eventually get into some national trust woodland, which is also fairly good for A.Muscaria.

There is also a train track running along side the sports field, with a bridge over it from the field. It takes you into Wellington College, which also had a few A.Muscaria, although I wouldn't stray too far from the footpaths, as it's private property.

London

When in London, Get to Liverpool St BR jump the train to Chingford. Turn right, follow the road to the Royal Forest Hotel, the fields beyond the football pitches on the left gave up plenty of caps when  was a youngster.

Kent

There are fly agaric on the public golf course at Wersterham in Kent. There is a road going through the course. Park off there and you should be able to find some. I was down there yesterday 16 October. I didn't take them all. They were in the woody edge to the course right next to the road. Watch out for flying golf balls.

Soon To Be Categorised :

Dorset - Cole Hill

Fly Agaric on lower common of Hartlebury Common, Stourport-on-Seven.

I have also been told about fields around Talgarth, but nowhere in particular.

Greenfields - A635 (on the edge of Saddleworth Moor, Oldham). No exact details,
but the grassy pastures around this area have been plentiful in the past.

found heaps near the Methodist Church in Storrington, West Sussex

last year spent a week trip'en out in Somerset 'nuff shrooms every ware - checkout http://www.streetmap.co.uk/streetmap.dll?grid2map?X=292571&Y=132630&arrow=Y&zoom=5

Have found a wonderful supply of liberty caps @ Lime Park, just outside of Buxton - thus far has yielded in excess of 1000. lovely!

Ashton Court Estate. Some shrooms, but not that good a site really. Only seen 2 other people picking here though.

On the Elgol Peninsula, as you go down the road to the quay, on the right hand side there is a Post Office with a hill behind it. Sheep graze here, and Liberty Caps love the sheep shit! Also, in Ord, I found many fresh Fly Agarics in the silver birches by the side of the road in 'town'.

---
Shrewsbury: 1) Priory School field. Ask anyone and they'll know where it is. Get there just when the sun is rising and go to the rugby field (huge). An easy 500 will be yours if it's been raining. 2) Meole Brace School field. Literally opposite Priory, the larger field yeilds more like 1000. 3) The Water Tower. On 'The Mount' (just ask anyone) you walk through a few gates to some very long grassed fields. Don't worry about not seeing the water tower - I doubt it exists these days. 4) Just ask for directions to 'Harlescott', and then 'Upton Magna'. On the very long hill on the way, just pull in left and enjoy the tens of thousands situated here.

Scotland : Well known local forest in Achnahaird. It's pretty much all there is there so is very easy to find if you have a road atlas and a good tank full of petrol. it's located about 20 miles north east of Ullapool. (Fly Agaric, mid-September).

----

Probably the best place for magic mushrooms in Kirriemuir is "The Den" this is a large park right in the center of Kirriemuir. Liberty caps grow in abundance there, though I heard a few Fly Agaric mushrooms were seen as well. To get to Kirriemuir, follow signs for Glen Clova, from Dundee. The Den is right in the center of the town.

-----

New Forest : found stacks of fly agarics at a place called Dennys Wood, between Lyndhurst and Beulie, just down from the main car park on the left hand side, amongst some ferns and silver birch, just off the road, not deep in the woods.

The Rollright Stones, first a good site is WWW.ROLLRIGHT.DEMON.CO.UK run by local crusty pagans who protect the monument. Chipping Norton is the closest town (20 miles out of Oxford) then its about 4 miles to Little Rollright, the circle is just before that in a really open and desolate ridge. Also when I cycled there I passed really excellent birch and pine forests.

Go to Avebury, start at the Red Lion pub in the middle of the circle, follow the metalled track which leads straight out of the East side of the Circle. Go straight up the track, cross the Ridgeway and the gallops. Starting in that field and for the rest of Fyfield Down, there are loads of shrooms of all kinds.
