Little Known Facts Showing Dublin's Dominance

- Before Kerry, the current leaders in the Senior Football Roll of Honour even had one All-Ireland (their first in 1903), Dublin had already clocked up eight.

- Dublin still led the way with the most Senior Football All-Irelands in 1939, in fact it was not until 1946, almost a decade later that Kerry took the lead. The interim period was one where the two rivals were constantly level with each other.

- Dublin, now the proud holders of 22 Senior All Ireland Football Titles have over triple the number of their closest rival, Galway.

- The administrative centre of the GAA is situated in Dublin City itself, a lasting monument to the original leaders in our native game.

- Dublin were the first county to achieve two Senior Football All-Irelands in a row (1891, 1892) and only five years after that broke their own record by becoming the first county to achieve three Senior All-Irelands in a row (1897,1898, 1899). It took Kerry over three decades to equal Dublin's record; however by then Wexford had set a new record of four in a row (1915, 1916, 1917, 1918). It has never been broken.
