Speakers, Friends and Others

Lots of people have been involved with SELFS in its history. Here's links to some of them.

Academic Vampire - the site for vampy expert Tina Rath.

Anomalistic Psychology Research Unit  - Academic research into the paranormal at Goldsmiths College in New Cross, headed up by the one and only Chris French.

Atlantis Bookshop - Serving the occult community since antedivulian times. Speaker and SELFS pal Geraldine Beskin runs the place now.

Bagrec Richard Sanderson's blog. I don''t agree with everything he says but I enjoy reading all of it.

John Callow - one of our finest historians of early modern magic and witchcraft.

Centre for Fortean Zoology  – The online home for Dragon expert, and previous SELFS speaker, Richard Freeman. The CFZ like drinking, beastie hunting, making mad films and excellent books, and then drinking some more.

Antony Clayton - The website for one of SELFS most popular speakers and author of Subterranean City. He regularly explores London's under-tummy, follow him.

The Complete Spring-heeled Jack Page - Steve Ash's page on the "Terror of London".

Cryptoworld - Cryptozoological blog and gallery, including film clips and photos from the Death Worm expedition to Mongolia.

The stone-circle at Hilly Fields, Brockley. There since 2000AD. Picture via Rocklands.
Andrew Donkin - A SELFS regular who they let write children's books. His graphic adaptation of fairy-bothering criminal-mastermind Artemis Fowl's first adventure is utterly stonking.

Dragon Environmental Network  – Eco-magic, paganism and protest news and links.

Enthusiasm - A Novelty Choking Hazard, by occasional SELFS-ster Marc Robinson.  It's a top google hit for "weird shit", apparently.

F&M Publications - Walworth Road based publishers of London penny dreadful One Eye Grey and other projects.

Fowler Troops and the Deptford Jack-in-the-Green -
Sarah Croft's pages on the history and present of the annual Jack-in-the-Green procession through south-London as well as a list of other Jack-in-the-Greens. It includes pictures, locations (pubs) and contact details for future events.

The Lebanon Circle - Bermondsey-based online shop for those who "specialize in mentalism, mediumistic performance or just pure magic". "More magic websites by Pixies fans" I say! They were responsible for the Dead Fairy Hoax too.

The London Adventure - Fine sorts walking and talking about the lost literature of London and beyond.

London Vampire Group - They love vampires, best of all the supernatural animals.

Magonia  - Sir John Rimmer’s magazine investigating contemporary vision and belief. Regularly amusing, often thought provoking and always intelligently written, the online archive is breath-taking.

Midnight - The web home for the "Rock, Jazz, Blues, Chillout Grooves" band Midnight, which includes SELFS regulars Dave Barrett and Sarah Coleman.

Molotovia -  You can find stuff by Dub Shaman-about-Town Stephen Grasso here.

Strange Attractor -  Mark Pilkington's den of all things fascinating. Mark found the time, between making strange music, writing for the Fortean Times and the Gruaniad, putting on Strange Attractor events and publishing the Strange Attractor Journal, to speak at SELFS about paranoid technology.

Kate Waterfield - Rune-singer and chum

Steve Wilson  - The website for London speaker, Moot with No Name and Moot with No Reflection organiser, DJ and SELFS fixture / occasional speaker. It's no wonder he's not had a chance to update his web site in a while.
