Strange & Wonderful
South East London
Some of the folk at SELFS have, for a couple of years or so, been gathering data of strange and wonderful events that have taken place in south east London. These include talk of sacred sites, interesting local customs, sightings of ghosts, panthers roaming the area and anything else that fits the mantra of 'paganism, folklore, forteana, high-strangeness and the occult'.
The plan is, eventually, to produce a booklet, some booklets or a journal related to 'Strange and Wonderful South-East London' and we are always keen to receive information, stories or requests.
Lack of material isn't the problem with the project, though; it's the lack of time. But do bear with us. Kicking things off below is a list of links to local news stories. Hope you enjoy them.
There's plenty newspaper clippings, place-markers in books and photocopies of documents in the file too.
We would, of course, be endlessly grateful for more stuff to add to the folder. First-hand accounts would be brilliant as would links to stories, book references, magazine articles and newspaper clippings.
