My latest slotcar model is the new Smart 451. This one is based on the Maisto diecast toy so is available in a range of colours. Often, slotcar conversions on diecast models are very slow due to their weight. Thanks to it's small size, it isn't an issue with this one and it actually handles better than my earlier resin cast Smarts. There's the added bonus of a nice detailed finish, which isn't easy to achieve with low volume resin casting.



The slotcar chassis fits very neatly. The original front axle is re-used from the toy car but a new rear axle with proper slotcar tyres is fitted; this is more in keeping with the narrow front/wider rear wheel set-up of the real car too. There's provision for fitting a traction magnet in the chassis as well. 
 
You can buy just the motorised chassis, driver figure & interior moulding if you want to convert your own Maisto Smart & so save on shipping costs!
Full instructions are included - the only tools needed are a small philips screwdriver, adhesive & some scissors.
