There is little
likelihood that many of us have ever heard
these selections
played in this form. There are violins, drums,
saxophones,
trombones, and some other conventional instruments,
but there
are also many unusual sound - producing devices. Then
too, there is
Reverberation, an artificial echo produced electronically
and completely
under the control of the recording engineer. But in spite
of the
unique arrangement and the unfamiliar instruments there is charm
in the music, for we can recognize old favorites in completely new dress.

There as been
a rejuvenation in the popularity of the organ
recently partly
because high fidelity enthusiasts have found
it an ideal
vehicle for producing the far out highs and lows
with which to
put their music equipment to the proper test.
The Marty Gold
OrganEnsemble is based here on three
organs.Two
Hammonds playing in support of aBaldwin.
The tunes he
has chosen are some of the most warmly loved
works of our
popular composers, and never heard before in
the unusual
instrumentation in which they are offered here.

Marty Gold has
done it again! In this, his latest Vik album,
customized especially
for the marvels of Hi-Fi, we are carried
up to new and
exciting heights much the same as the hero Jack
&
the bean stalk, of whom we are naturally reminded by the title.
The chief difference
between our present recorded experience and
Jack's fabled
climb is that we go even higher with some of the
most "Crystalline
Musical Hi-Fi" ever etched on vinyl disk.
