When this Mercury Album assignment was awarded to
Mick Simpson, his aim was to present sensible interplay
between instruments. Interplay that would be musically
interesting in terms of both specific patterns and overall
continuity. In order to accomplish this and to assure the
best possible performance, he recorded the album in four
sessions, to give each selection proper attention. He chose
the musicians with a great care, because his arrangements
included a slew of difficult matters of tempo and required
devotion to precision. The results of Simpson's demanding
nature"heard here" are evidence enough that such insistence
produce first rate music. The session was recorded in studio
A.Universal Recording Corp.Chicago November 1960.

The music from Pete Rugolo is always something special!
"Pete is a master of his craft"
He writes with equally great facility, ability and originality
for films, the television, singers, jazz or even cowboy bands!
Probably the outstanding feature of  Rugolo's compositions
and arrangements is his always new and intriguing approach,
both in the thematic material and in the tone colors he employs.
The ingenious, effective music in this album displays  Rugolo
in some of his most persuasive musical moods. The session was
