In producing
Cavallaro's "With that latin beat" Decca has
added
a "Gem" in a necklace of superb music. We attended
several of the
recording sessions for this album which "Mr
Cavallaro cut
in Dallas. He is backed by the same rhythm
section which
he features in his"Night club act". Drummer
Paul Guerrero
and the bassist Reinhold Press. They are
teamed with
the fine and tasteful guitar of Lee Robinson.
The trio
is augmented by percussionist Tommy Gwin who
shares some
of the most "Bombastic drum sequences" with
Guerrero. And
of course there is Carmen Cavallaro, one
of the most
gifted pianists of our time, a recognized authority
on latin music.
