This following list was initially based on Robert A Stradling's The Irish and the Spanish Civil war 1936-1939, published by Mandolin, an imprint of Manchester University Press. ISBN 1901341135, price £10.95

The list was substantially increased with over 200 extra names found in F McGarry's book, and some others found in different sources, so that there are now 660 names of the Irish brigade and associated groups listed, i.e. their clergy and medical staff.
