RED NOSE DAY ROCK CONCERT - COMIC RELIEF 2001

CHRIS WALLS - GUITAR + VOCALS, SAM TANNER - DRUMS, SETH BARLOW - BASS, JADE LOWE - VOCALS

MILLIE HOLT - ALTO SAX, SEB MALEY - TROMBONE, RHIANNON MOLLART - KEYBOARD + DANCING

If I recall, this was recorded direct to MD8 using a line from the PA and a couple of ambient mics.

The Michael Jackson Fun Hour [2.22 MB - 4:51]

This was originally spawned from an impromptu Michael Jackson jam in the studio, and featured in our set for about the first year. Rhiannon led the dancing and didn't play the keyboard. Chris plays his trademark "no hands" guitar solo. The Fathers had this before Alien Ant Farm blasphemed it.

WOODHOUSE WANDERERS SUMMER PARTY - JUNE 30th 2001

CHRIS WALLS - GUITAR + VOCALS, SAM TANNER - DRUMS, SETH BARLOW - BASS + VOCALS

JADE LOWE - VOCALS, MILLIE HOLT - ALTO SAX + KEYBOARD, RHIANNON MOLLART - KEYBOARD

This gig consisted of two sets, one outdoors and one indoors. It was recorded to tape with a stereo pair.

OUTDOOR SET

Foxy Lady [1.98 MB - 4:19]

Chris and Seth used to cover this Hendrix classic in their band Schlong, and it was requested here with no prior rehearsal. The arrangement is true to the original 'power trio'.

Let Me Be Frank [3.60 MB - 7:51]

This is the only live performance of this mainly improvised guitar solo. Chris was inspired to write it by the guitar solos of Frank Zappa. The tape ran out before the song did.

INDOOR SET

Big Woman [1.43 MB - 3:06]

A not bad version of this 'classic', with music by Chris Walls and lyrics by Jade Lowe. Seb couldn't make it to this gig, hence the absence of a trombone solo.

Fool Lover [1.27 MB - 2:47]

For some reason this is the only ever proper live version of this song, although we did an instrumental version at The Shed once. Music is by Chris Walls, Lyrics by Jade Lowe.

WOODHOUSE WANDERERS SUMMER PARTY - JUNE 29th 2002

CHRIS WALLS - GUITAR + TRUMPET, MILLIE HOLT - TENOR SAX, SAM TANNER - DRUMS, SETH BARLOW - BASS

This set was crudely recorded onto tape using a microphone dangling at the back of the stage and a line from the small PA.

Live Jam [4.38 MB - 9:34]

We opened our outdoor set with this improv, based initally on a looping guitar arpeggio. Unfortunately I forgot to press record at the beginning of the jam, so you miss the first bit and only get the last 9 and a half minutes!

It's Your Thing [2.79 MB - 6:06]

Millie initially arranged this piece from a Grant Green recording for her A Level coursework. Chris is playing guitar and trumpet simultaneously, and the trumpet is through a wah wah pedal.

Indian Jam [3.43 MB - 7:29]

This is a completely improvised piece, never before conceived, rehearsed, discussed or played. Chris started off and the band followed. This here is genuine creation. You probably wouldn't catch anything like this happening in the pop charts.
