Jism Correspondance

To James Whale:

Dear Mr Whale,

Having been a, shall we say, interested viewer and listener of yours for many years now, I am compelled to contact you with regard the organisation of my own devising, whose work I feel may well be of interest to you. I'm going to say a word now, and I want you to think about this word Mr. Whale, for this word is JISM. I know what it means, and you know what it means, but the sad fact is, too few people do! I feel very, very strongly about this, because the word jism is near perfect, summing up neatly the meaning of the word in a nice and tidy packet. But how to redress the miscarriage of language, and popularise a word that truly and dare I say it empirically deserves it? Well, that was the problem I was faced with, and my solution was the formulation of the soon to be legendary Jism Foundation. We are currently building up our troops, and have had a few small scale victories (Lee and Herring, have made a couple of discrete references to our cause on their current series, for instance). We have contacted the Labour Government in an attempt to wangle a slot in the millenium dome, possibly in the "great big lady" (we're still waiting for a reply). Soon we will start planning our media campaign, in the hopes of spreading jism to the hearts and minds of all and sundry, albeit on the cheap. All I really ask for is your support. The Foundation has a web site (http://members.Tripod.co.uk/~sporadic/index.html) which is slowly taking shape, and I just know that with your commendation and endorsement, the Foundation shall prove a success, and we may yet realise our Jism 2000 goal, as listed on the pages. I thank you for your time and patience, and look forward to a reply...

Yours sincerely,

Simon H Scott.

Still waiting...
