Dorothy wall hanging

This was a pattern from a quilting magazine. I had the bulk of it done for a few years, and finally took it out of the unfinished pile. It's the first time I did hand quilting for anything. The entire border is hand quilted.

World's Ugliest Sock

I knitted this in March '04...it still doesn't have a mate. The yarn looked much better before it was actually knitted.

Christmas 2003 gift for mom & Jim

A blanket I made for mom and Jim for Christmas 2003. It was made with double-strands of yarn and a Q-hook.

Cathedral window wall hanging, made in a quilting class in 1994.

Close-up of cathedral window

This shows better the handwork that was involved. The patterned material is all hand-stitched to the green background. About 90% of this pattern is hand-stitched. It was a lot of work, but one of my favorite patterns.

Macrame plant hangar

I hadn't macramed since grade school, and finally got around to buying the supplies. This is my first effort. It was quite fun to make, and I will definately be making more.

Large Plant Hangar

I had to upsize this aloe plant, and needed something to hang the pot with, so I macramed this larger hangar. Unfortunately, the only thing in the house strong enough to support the weight was a heavy duty hangar and a reinforced shower curtain bar.

Button wreath

My great-grandmother always had this huge collection of miscellaneous buttons that she kept in some old metal tins. When my mom had them, I used to go through them often, picking out my favorites, sorting them, and enjoying all the different ones. I inherited them somehow, and wanted to display them. I thought this would be the perfect way to showcase my favorites.

Knitted Log Cabin Pillow

This pattern, the log cabin, is traditionally done with quilting. I knitted this for my mom some years back. It's been well loved, hence it's raggedy appearance. At one point, I had nine different bobbins of yarn going at once. It was a tremendous achievement for me, but not one I'll likely repeat soon.

Rabbit cross stitch

This was the first large scale piece I did. It's made with cross stitch. Three years passed between starting and finishing it. It was a very extensive project, which I spent good money to get matted and framed. I gave it to my mother.

One of many unfinished pieces, this is the first paper piecing I've done. It needs batting and backing, as well as the button tires sewn on, and perhaps some text for a few of the trucks.

Brady family clock

I made this I believe for my step-dad for his birthday some years back, with the thought they could bring it to their camp to use. It hasn't made it there yet! :P

baby rings quilt

I traded this quilt with my girlfriend Liz for a cake. I don't remember why.

Doily

This was crocheted with a very small steel hook and crochet threat. My first doily...I was practicing for old age.

Shaun's rail fence quilt, x-mas 1996

My brother constantly bitched he didn't have a handmade quilt, so my mom and I made this for him for a Christmas gift. This is the rail fence pattern. He loved it, and still uses it every day.

small wall hanging

I made this April 1994. One of the first things I've made for myself and actually kept.
