Projects

We initially asked for donations to help offset the cost of shipping emergency goods to Sri Lanka. Very quickly thereafter, when it became clear that help would be needed over a long period of time, we asked for donations for long-term projects. We decided to focus mainly on re-housing survivors and to help them regain their livelihoods.

These pages describe projects we supported, who the beneficiaries were, how much was donated, and what work was done. Some projects will take several months to complete. As more progress is reported, we will update these pages.

Our main projects received sums exceeding £1000, some of them received several thousand. Small projects are those that were undertaken during visits by members of the projects sub-committee and two other members of the executive committee of the Sri Lankan Association of South Wales.
