The Shropshire Record Series The Series publishes printed editions of historical documents concerning the county of Shropshire, England. The following volumes have been issued so far: 1 Sir Stephen Glynne's church notes for Shropshire. Sir Stephen Glynne (180774) made detailed architectural notes on 128 medieval churches in Shropshire. 2 The diary of George Gitton of Bridgnorth for 1866. George Gitton, a small-time printer and newspaper reporter, captured in his diary the essence of a small mid-Victorian town. 3 The lay subsidy for Shropshire 15247. Taxpayers were listed under the names of their townships. The Shropshire lists name more than 3,800 people and 640 places. 4 Shropshire historical documents: a miscellany. The accounts, 158390, of an ironworks at Shifnal; the diary of Independent minister Henry Maurice,1672; the registers of births kept 17811803 by Thomas Higgins, a man-midwife; and the diary, 18901, of Edward Lawrence, master of Wellington workhouse. 5 The glebe terriers of Shropshire: part 1 (Abdon to Llanfair Waterdine). Glebe terriers were detailed descriptions, parish by parish, of the economic assets of ecclesiastical livings from the 16th to the 19th century.
6 The glebe terriers of Shropshire: part 2 (Llanyblodwel to Wroxeter). This completes the edition and has the place-index to both parts.
7 Accounts of the stewards of the Talbot family of Blakemere 1392 - 1425. Their household stewards kept financial accounts of everything purchased for the daily consumption of the family and their retainers at Blakemere, including food, drink, clothing, and hardware, and for their journeys on estate, family and political business. 8 Church and chapel in early Victorian Shropshire.
