St. Anne's was first dedicated in 1938 in order to serve the growing population in the Hart Hill area of Luton.
For many years it operated as a Daughter Church to St. Mary's, the Parish Church of Luton, but in 1984 St. Anne's was consecrated
as the Parish Church of the Parish of St. Anne, Luton.
In the period from 1938 to the present, St. Anne's has under gone many changes and much of that story
is told in a book written by a former Vicar, Dudley Gummer - "The Story of St. Anne's Church until 1988". Copies of the book are available from the church at a
cost of £2.50.
