TOS v1.0 Disk

This is a german TOS on disk. You can boot any ST with it to change to TOS 1.0. You do not need it for emulators.

TOS v1.0 ROM

This is the oldest TOS shipped on ROMs.
This version of TOS is most compatible with games.

• get the US version (101k)
• get the UK version (102k)
• get the German version (100k)

TOS v1.2

This is the so-called Blitter TOS.
It contains support for the Mega ST internal clock and the Blitter chip.
Incompatible with many old games.

• get the UK version (106k)
• get the German version (105k)

TOS v1.4

This is the so-called Rainbow TOS because of the animated Atari Logo in the Info box on the desktop.
It contains much better support for hard discs and a lot of bug fixes.
Incompatible with many old games but supreme for all games dated later than 1988.

TOS v1.62

This is the so-called STE TOS. It was shipped with the 1040 STE computers.
It is basically a TOS 1.4 with special support for the STE features.
Incompatible with many old games and Non-STEs.

• get the UK version (109k)

TOS v2.6

This is the latest official TOS for the Atari ST computer series. It was shipped with the Mega STE computers.
Use this one for GEM based work. It has the best desktop with advanced features.
BEWARE:Some games won't run with this version of TOS.

It has a fancy ATARI logo during boot!
