I have gotten several requests to create a tutorial on how I CG and draw. In my opinion, Painter Classic is the easiest CGing tool to pick up. I've tried using Photoshop but the layers and masks and other whatnot made me nuts. I tried painting with Metacreations Painter and the overabundance of brush controls drove me crazy. So here I am, back with my trusty ol' Painter Classic and my tablet.
I draw with either Metacreations Painter (complex pictures) or Painter Classic (sketches). Photoshop is only for special effects, making wallpapers or toning ROMB.
One huge lacking in Painter Classic is that it doesn't support Layers. In the beginning I found this a very big drawback because I'd always worked with layers when I'm coloring a detailed and complicated picture. After a while, I realised you don't need Layers to paint something pretty. It's just a matter of approach and method.
