40 years ago Dion got his 1st staring role in the feature movie 10 Girls ago - It was hyped in the teen press of the time - then - it disappeared
Thanks to Juan,Fred,Doug Steff and Ray who've helped me pull this together
We're sure there's more out there - but we need your help - feel free to share your knowledge with us

small notice appeared on 16 MAG. Vol.4 # 2, JULY 1962, and it says:
"DION's flick, TEN GIRLS AGO, turned out to be a real grade-A winner, cinemascope, technicolor and all. DION had a ball kidding around on the set (in Toronto, Canada) with Bert Lahr, Buster Keaton and Eddie Foy Jr. DI wrote a new song, Feelin' no pain, for the film."
Does it still exist - well we've heard tails of fans nearly getting their hands on copies but then Juan tells us:
" For what I know some months ago a Buster Keaton DVD boxset was released in the USA, it included some unseen films and I have been told that it also contained some minutes of TEN GIRLS AGO. The thing is that to buy a whole box set for only a few minutes "
What songs were scheduled for the film:
10 Girls ago - mentioned in the CTC article as recorded by Dion - has any1 out there heard it - its news to us?
Feelin No Pain - Thanks to Dougs spade work we know Dion wrote this for the film - but noone again has heard it - but we know quite well his version of the song he produced for his backing group the Dell Satins
Who Cares - The B Side of the Del Satins single again written and co-produced by Dimucci - could that also have a film connection?
The appalling fact is that 40 years later we just don't know!
We have UK 70's rocker Graham Parker to thank for the only known tribute song for this lost film "10 Girls ago" of course - an essential for all Dion Fans collections
.
Not sure if this term carries any currency outside the UK but its a factual statement about the outcome of the movie here.
According to Dion in his biography "The Wanderer" he comes up with a story about nobody realising the female dog was actually a male forcing the studio to consider re-filming large sections before the plug was pulled.
. We're left asking was this a cock and bull story
Dion is now making his. first movie. It is called,"Ten Girls Ago" and co-stars Bert Lahr and Buster Keaton. Dion's in seventh heaven working on location in Canada he goes horse-riding in his lunch-hour every day. He penned two of the songs for the flick' and it opens with a large close-up of him singing the title...
I have the Buster Keaton DVD boxed set. According to the on screen notes, the film was never completed. 32 minutes of B/W footage were put together to secure investors, but the film never saw release.
The cinemascope footage within the DVD lasts about 4 minutes only, with no scenes showing Dion at all, though it is mentioned as his vehicle. Parts of the sound track were also missing.
Unless someone can secure all the lost footage to piece it together, I see no chance of this film ever seeing video, DVD, or theatrical release. Too bad...
