Cobb cottage is a 200 year old traditional semi-detached Cornish home situated just yards from the delightful village square of St. Keverne with its 14th Century church.
A small enclosed paved area, in front of the cottage, leads through a stable door into a cosy beamed sitting/dining room with pine furnishings and inglenook fireplace with wood burner. TV, DVD and video player plus a hi-fi system are provided. The fully fitted kitchen has an electric oven cooker with four ring hob plus microwave, fridge-freezer and washing machine.
Stairs lead to the three double bedrooms, two with double beds and one with twin beds, and to an attractively decorated bathroom with shower over bath, hand basin, WC, heated towel rail and airing cupboard.
In addition, opposite the cottage is a walled patio garden, perfect for summer Barbeque's. Parking is available directly outside the property or in the village square.
Children & pets are welcome. Preferably no smoking.

LOCATION
St. Keverne is one of the busiest and most popular villages on the Lizard Peninsula. The ancient market town of Helston is approximately 8 miles away providing further amenities including A large Tesco supermarket. Main line stations can be found in Penzance and Truro (London approximately 5hours). The village is a short distance away from the coastal village locations of Porthoustock and Porthallow along with the popular harbour village of Coverack. The sea is only one mile away and there is a good choice of beaches and coves for bathing, boating and fishing.
BEACHES
The nearest beach is approx 3 miles away at Godrevy Cove. This beach offers a wide expanse of sand is very quiet. There are lovely views of the manacles and the beach offers safe bathing.
There are planty of beautiful beaches around the lizard peninsula, of note are Kynance Cove and the lovely creek at St Anthony.
WHAT TO DO IN ST KEVERNE
In the summer there are plenty of entertainments provided by the St Keverne Band, the Male Voice Choir, a carnival, ox-roast, coffee mornings, gala evenings, gymkhana, flower festivals, painting and history exhibitions, etc.
The renowned Roskilly's farm with its delicious ice cream and farm produce is only a 10 minute walk from the cottage.
OX ROAST
The popular OX Roast is held in the square every year
The Ox Roast originated from the Coronation of George V1 in 1937. In 1953 when meat rationing was still in force and the Ministry of Food worried about the nation's meat stock might disappear in one day, ruled that communities could only celebrate with a roasting if they could show they had cooked an ox for the late King.
In all the UK only 82 communities qualified with St Keverne being the only village in west Cornwall to do so and in June 1953 they held an Ox Roast to celebrate the Coronation of Elizabeth 11. The Ox Roast is now held in early August every year.

The buses run regularly from St Keverne to Helston, Penzance and Truro

Parking is available immediately outside the cottage for two vehicles. Alternatively there is plenty of parking in the village square.

EATING OUT IN ST KEVERNE
There are 2 pubs in the square, the White Hart and the 3 Tuns. Both offer excellent value pub food and bar snacks.
There is also an excellent Bistro called The Green House located within the square.

BOAT TRIPS
There are regular boat trips to Isles of Scilly from Penzance. Deep sea fishing is available from Falmouth and Penzance.
You can also hire boats from St Anthony and Helford.
DIVING
Cornwall, possibly the country’s premier diving location, offers the combination of a temperate climate along with a coastline washed by the clear, clean waters of the Atlantic Gulf Stream. This ensures good underwater visibility all year around.
Basking Sharks are regular visitors to the Cornish coastline, along with Porpoises and Dolphins.
The Manacles
This area of reef covering approximately one square mile, is an abundance of shipwrecks and reefs ranging from 8m to 80m, catering for divers of all levels. There has been more loss of shipping here than on any other comparable reef on the entire south coast of Britain, with over 110 ships and more than 1,000 lives lost.
