Miyamoto's doom (part 1)

part 1

Warm strays of the early morning sun shone on my face as I walked down the
path that led to the center of the village, my village, my home. I smelled an
almost overwhelming sweet aroma that seemed to be coming from the flowers.

Flowers.

Always flowers in this village, it's surrounded by them, thousands of
flowers, but not one single rose. I love roses--they're so strong and pretty.
The rose doesn't need anyone--it shields itself with its thorns, to be safe
against the harsh world...and whoever tries to come close will be punished.
Only the sly creatures, who dare to take the risk and try to wurm themselves
past those tricky, sharp teeth will be able to conquer the rose--and most
likely destroy it. Kill the strong, beautifull rose.

"Beautifull weather today, isn't it Jessica?"

Old Mrs.Crocket stopped watering her flowers and turned to look at me. I
chuckled at what she'd said..she always said that--even when it was raining.
I really liked her, she and her husband were the the only people who seemed
to be enjoying their lives--and it was contagius too, everytime I see her my
dark mood seems to lighten and I feel...alive.

I smiled at the old woman. "It sure is Mrs.Crocket! It's really warm today." I
replied as I looked at the flowers and stepped a little closer, she smelled
like roses.

She frowned and gave her plants a sceptical look. "Yes you're right, my
plants are feeling a little dry today," she bent down and stroked her flowers
gently. "I'll just give them some more water--and by the way..." she
straightened her back and sighed. "Don't call me Mrs., it makes me feel so
old."

In the corner of my eye I saw her husband--Mr.Crocket--stepping through the
door and walking at his wife. I smiled as they embraced, they were the cutest
couple I'd ever seen, something just seemed so right about the two of them,
so perfect.

"But honey...," he grinned at her. "You are old!"

She playfully whacked her husband over the head and stuck her tongue out.
"Don't listen to him Jessie, he's just jealous."

I shook my head and grinned at them.

"You're right honey, who wouldn't be jealous of such an atractive, strong and
not to forget--sexy woman like you?"

I coughed and they both looked at me. "She's only twelve Jim, let's not screw
her sensitive young soul no more with our love-brabbles." she said.

"Right love," he replied. "We are most sorry beautifull young lady, will you
ever forgive our love-sick minds?"

I burst into a fit of laughters when I heard their fake Southern accents and
they looked at me in amusement.

"Look love," Julia replied. "She finds us amusing!" she said and they began to
laugh too.

"JESSIE!!!"

I turned around to see my mother standing on top of the hill, waving at me.
"You'd better go now Jessica." Jim said as they walked towards the door. "See
you tomorrow Jessie!" Julia said as she followed her husband inside.
