Miyamoto's
doom
Part 4
"WOW!!"
"Totally awesome dude, where'd ya get it?"
I pulled my pillow over my head as I listened to the annoying
everyday the
same 'radical' and 'cool' screams coming from the even more
annoying boys.
Every morning, even on weekends, they would come here--in front
of my
house--to start their day off with their stupid ramblings. I knew
all their
secrets and scam plans of the last few months. Not that they were
exciting
plans or something.
"Maybe we can get some candy for it?"
That's a good example.
"Yeah!! Yer the Boss man!"
I growned as I threw my pillow against the wall. I got out of bed
and slowly
made my way to the window, studying their rather emberrasing
victory dance
around their leeder--if that's what you could call that wussie.
I opened the window and leaned outside. "This oughtta be a
good laugh." I
wispered to myself.
"Hey you!!" I screamed outside at the suddenly
paralyzed kids.
All three stared at me like I was some sort of ghost.
"Never seen a pretty girl before?" I grinnes as they
closed their mouths
instantly.
The leeder stepped forward and gave his comrads the 'I'm a tough
guy' look.
"And what does the little girly want huh?" he said,
mighty proud of himself.
One of the boys in the back bursted out in some sort of hicking
laughter as
he pointed from me to the leader. "Maybe she wants a kiss"
The wussie-leeder smirked at me. "Yeah, after all I am quite
attractive"
He adjusted his jacket and quikly ran a hand through his hair.
I frowned. "Nah, you're not my type, I am just going to give
you some advice"
"We don't need no advice from a girl" the boy in the
back remarked when he'd
recovered from his hicking.
The leider pulled out a mallet and smacked the boy on his head.
"Shut up Ed,
let the little girl say her stuff, and besides, I like a good
laugh from time
to time." he smirked at me.
Believe me kid, this will be everything but laughing time for you.
"The next
time you guys are going to plan some top secret scheme, don't do
it in front
of someone's window, 'cause that someone might hear everything
you say" I
said as they blushed and turned away. "What did you guys
find anyway? A
football?"
"No," the leider said as he pulled something round
shaped out of his pocket.
"This!" he showed his item to me. It was a Pokèball.
"It's a Pokèball!" the other kid in the back said.
"No, really?!" I said burying my head in my arms--intelligence
wasn't quite this
group's speciality. "I couldn't tell."
"Yeah well, that's not really a surprise to me Jess" a
very familiar voice
remarked.
Oh no, not her!! Please don't let it be her!"
"Hiya Cassidy!!," the boys said in unision. "Look
what we found!"
"Damn! It is her!" I said a little too loud.
"Good morning to you too Jess" she said mockingly.
"I've heard your mother
has left," she took the Pokèball from the boys--looked at
it with false
interest and then threw it into the nearby bushes. The boys
whined at their
loss and she angrily slapped them to the ground. "It wouldn't
surprise me if
she never returns"
"Why do you say that?" I asked. What did she mean by
that? It had never
occured to me that my mom might never return. I banned this
thought out of my
head, that was a stupid way to think, she had no reason to not
return.
"Well, you see...," she dramatically shook her head and
stared at the ground.
"Team Rocket members are doomed to die, one of them once
told me that once
they grow too old or get really sick so that they can't focuss on
their work
and most likely mess everything up--they'll be killed, so that's
why your
mother might never return...I'm just warning you for the worst
Jess."
"What kind of crap is that?! Even if it is true, my mom isn't
sick or old at
all!! So why are you saying this?!" I yelled ta her, not
knowing if what
she'd said was true or not. She sounded like she was serious, but
she's a
great lier--and a sick woman too.
"Cass?" Ed asked innocently.
"WHAT?!" she sneered and gave him one of her deadly
looks.
"Well..I was just wondering..if err..," he twirled his
shoe in the sand and
produced some sort of heart. "Can I borrow some of yer money
Cass? Pleahease
Cass, pretty please?"
"No way!" she shoved him away and glanced at her watch,
she looked at me and
grinned. "Oh, gotta go and get me my new dress, see you
later Jess!"
She turned her back at me and walked away, the boys following her
every step,
as always.
I don't even get what they see in her. What has she got that I
don't have?
I looked down at myself and already knew the answer. Just because
she's got
herself some nice clothes...so what? It still doesn't make her
different from
me. I studied myself in the mirror, my reflection made me feel
even worse.
It wasn't just beacause of her clothes..no..it was because,
because she was
pretty. "And I'm just...a pale skinny girl."
My own reflection made me feel sick, I had never had that feeling
before.
Tears invaded my eyes as I looked at my own miserable reflection,
the only
thing that was nice about me was my hair, it had the same curl in
the end
like my mother, it was the only thing that shone.
I don't know how long I stood there watching and disapproving
myself, but at
a certain moment I didn't myself no more. I saw a boy the cutest
face I'd
ever seen, he had blue-lavender colored hair and the most
beautiful eyes in
the world...deep green, and they looked so sad. He smiled
at me and tried to
reach out, but just before his hand could touch me, his face
contorted in a
wince of pain and he fell to the ground. Someone pulled him by
his jacket,
out of my sight. I wanted to help him, to reach out and be with
him. But then
I saw the one who had hurt him--it was me!! I saw my own
reflection and it
was laughing histerically. But it couldn't be me!! She cracked
her whip and
stopped laughing, she walked away into the darkness that was
surrounding
them. The last thing I heard was a scream, a scream of pain and
the cracking
sound of a whip.
