…in 1970 that is

The 1970's began with this, another masterpiece. The album pointed the way for contemporary music to follow throughout the rest of the decade.
Critical acclaim became the kiss of death. Rolling Stone magazine voted it album of the year. For any other band this would have meant world domination. For the Pretties it meant more struggling. Musically mature and varied, listen to '
Rain' and 'Cries from the Midnight Circus' and you will start to get the idea. There are out and out rockers such as 'Miss Fay Regrets' and more subtle songs like 'The Letter' and 'Grass'. The songs flow together and become a whole. Much has been written before about Parachute so I won't say it again. Just listen and think what might (should) have been.Line up: Phil May, Wally Waller, Victor Unitt, John Povey and Skip Alan.
