S.F Sorrow-the classic fourth album

A psychedelic masterpiece, S.F. Sorrow, based on a short story by Phil May, was unleashed on the world. Was it bad timing or just bad luck? Whilst Piper at the Gates of Dawn set Pink Floyd on the road to stardom and Sgt. Pepper put the icing on the Beatles cake this album the story of Sebastian F. Sorrow's travels through life somehow failed to set the world alight. Recognised as a classic by many, let's hope it and the band are now beginning to get the recognition they deserve.

Why? Quality second to none, superb songwriting and musicianship more social comment and humour (nobody did suss out that 'Bracelets of Fingers' was about masturbation!)

So contemporary it was untrue.

Where did all the other bands get it from?

Listen no further.

Tell me that Ozzy and Co had never heard 'Old Man Going' before cutting the first Sabbath album!!!

A certain Mr. Townshend is on record as crediting this as the first rock opera. He then went on to write 'Tommy'.

In case you hadn't guessed, S.F. Sorrow is my favourite album of all time. Not a duff track on it. Everything fits, the story, the cover the whole overall concept and yet it was never really played live for thirty years, but that's another story.

If you don't own this album you need to go out and buy it NOW!

Line up: Phil May, Dick Taylor, John Povey, Wally Waller and Twink.

On and on they raced...
