The Club

Club photo

Sunderland and District Table Tennis Club is based in the city of Sunderland, in north east England. It is a relatively newly formed table tennis club, having only come into being in 2001, although there has been organised (and some disorganised!) table tennis played in the city for almost 100 years. In spite of its youth the club has flourished, with over 130 members currently participating in practice sessions, coaching sessions and league matches.

The Club operates a comprehensive coaching programme for juniors from 7-17, from beginners through to England internationals. All sessions are under the the guidance of the club's head coach Bernie Morris, an ETTA qualified level 3 coach. He is assisted by several level 2 qualified coaches.

We are also an extremely ambitious club and operate a substantial coaching and practice programme for more advanced players. This has resulted in the club entering teams in the national cadet league and the prestigious Junior and Senior British Leagues. We also count amongst our members county players as well as both England and Scotland internationals.
