Aranzubia keen To Replace Molina
By Robert | 15th November 2002
ATHLETIC BILBAO reserve goalkeeper Dani Aranzubia has admitted that he could be tempted by move to Deportivo La Coruna after the Galicians contacted him about a switch. The 23-year-old has only played in two Copa Del Rey games this season and has not ruled out the possibility of a move to the Rizaor. Depor are looking for a new keeper after Jose Molina was diagnosed as having testicular cancer for the second time. "My agent has told me that there has been some contact with Deportivo," said Dani."If they were to make an offer of course I would consider it. "Any interest is flattering, but when it comes form one of the biggest clubs in the league it certainly boosts your confidence. "I have always said that I want to play for Athletic, but if I do not have a chance here and Depor tell me that I can play with them, then of course it is tempting. "All we know is that they would like to sign another goalkeeper and they have been watching me and have now spoken to my representatives. "But I am sure that they will also be looking at many other goalkeepers too. If they were to make an approach, I presume that it would be about a loan deal rather than a permanent transfer. "Despite the fact that I am not playing they have still taken notice of me and that is great." Deportivo signed Juanmi in the summer from Real Zaragoza, but are without any experienced back-up.
Reinke As Replacement For Molina?
By Robert | 1st November 2002
German and Murcia goalkeeper Andreas Reinke is on the wishlist of Deportivo. At least that is what his agent, Johnny Báez, claims. Báez has already spoken with Deportivo director Eduardo López Beci about the goalkeeper, and was told Deportivo will tell if they´re interested within some days. Andreas Reinke is 32-years-old and won the Bundesliga in 1998 with Kaiserslautern. He also has played Champions League football, and once was voted best German goalkeeper before Oliver Kahn. Both German newspaper Kicker and Spanish paper La Opinión mentioned the supposed interest. Báez is quoted as saying "It´s clear that Deportivo are interested, but I don´t want to rush things until they will call me." "There are possibilities for Deportivo to sign him very cheaply, as his contract runs out on June 30," Báez said. One of the reasons for a possible exit of Reinke at Murcia is his bad relationship with coach David Vidal, who has asked the Murcia board to sign Argentinean goalkeeper Castellano of Rosario Central.
