Fedora 3 + KanotiX

Yes, a long time I have not done any update; since from I switched to Fedora Core 3 and configured my own kernel 2.6.10; it recognizes all the hardware I plugged to my machine and I got fun withhh the joystick; after successful tests with KDE Control Center; I configured some GL games; gl-117 is typically the best, especially with the cheats at source code .
I don't know whether torcs (The Open Race Cars Simulator) works, I'm gonna look at the site.

Kanotix rocks; I donwloaded it and this is the most bugless distro I have ever seen, based on Knoppix, I also had no problem with haardware and software (although some favorite are missing ) Now, I'm a LinuX nomade, with Kanotix and my USB disk, nothing prevents me from having my own connection anywhere on any machine

I have some PHP scripts to make and to GPLize, once ready, you'll get informed either in this page or at hostscripts.

Cheers

Switched to Fedora 2

I finally could install Fedora 2 on my machine.
Finally, because the process has last more than 2 weeks!!First I received the CD s from Basilius and decided to upgrade from Fedora 1; however, the installation program Anaconda exited "abnormally" while trying to install TCL, for not having enough hard disk space (I was sure I had at least 10 GB free).
Well, as I backup'ed my data, the solution was to reformat. All run good, till the second CD, where I found out that the fourth had been duplicated twice, instead of the second.
As I don't have a fast connection, I had to meet all the people known for having Linux distros in order to get a copy, and I have been using Knoppix I have hacked and installed to feel like Debian; it's only yesterday I could find the second CD of Fedora Core 2!When the installation reached 80%, some error occurred, and it crashed, without executing the post installation.
Thanks to Knoppix (again!) I made a boot disket from the Fedora kernel, booted, recompiled the missing modules and did that "dirty work", whose Anaconda didn't made.
All seems fine now, the only thing that sucks is the sound card: Fedora has recognised and configured it, but /dev/dsp doesn't seem to work fine.
Anyway, I'm really enjoying the 2.6 kernel and the SE enhancement, the xorg (that replaced XFree86) since I have no longer problems with OpenGL and 3d applications; of course, Gimp 2, Umbrello, Kstars (wow!!!!) and other nice and useful applications.

Fun

I recently added 2 articles in Linux category.
The first is funny, and exploits some commands whose the output is wrong to fit with the context
The result is however amazing
The second one, a mini-tutorial on how to spoof your browser's identity, to surf anonymous.
Now, have a real fun!
