DOWNLOAD CLIFF FOR LESS THAN THE PRICE OF A COFFEE 1st & 2nd April 2007
Dear Friends, Since December the rules for downloading have changed. From the beginning of 2007 all legally downloaded music tracks are eligible for the charts, whether they be album tracks, b-sides, etc. This means that downloads will be an increasingly important feature of the UK singles chart. With this in mind, I have been running a survey on my site to see which, of all the tracks from Cliff's back catalogue, you would like to see enter the UK singles chart. By far, the track you have chosen is Simplicity , from Cliff's stunning 2004 album, Something's Goin' On. Some of us on the Move It list have got together and worked out that if enough of us downloaded Simplicity , it is possible that Cliff could have yet another chart hit on his hands, with no real effort from him (except to record it of course!) and no record company intervention. All it needs is the fans, access to a computer, a credit or debit card and a legal download site such as Itunes etc. We are hoping that you will all join with us from 1st and 2nd April 2007 to download Simplicity . At most the track will cost 79p, less than a good cup of coffee. Those of you who do not know how to download need not miss out. Sarah James, my great friend, and huge Cliff fan has designed a webpage guiding you through the download process. She will also include details of the best place to download Simplicity from. For more details, click here . The main purpose of the exercise is to see whether or not Cliff's fans will download and how much impact we can make on the charts with this format. It would be great if, in the process, we could add another hit record to Cliff's phenomenal chart tally, further cementing his place in UK chart history. Remember, the all important dates are 1st and 2nd April 2007 and the track is Simplicity . Oh, and please, spread the word. Thanks. |
