Help needed with exact dates please!! 1. View looking towards Beacon Square. 1916 (Photo courtesy J. Arthur Osborne) View looking towards Beacon Square and the Methodist Sunday School, built 1895. The two men wearing their best clothes, sitting on a trunk, are probably emigrating, and on their way to Camborne Railway Station. 2. Beacon Square, Tea Treat, 1920's (Photo courtesy J. Arthur Osborne) Sunday School Tea Treat, ready to follow the band to the Tea Treat field. Chapel on the left built 1865, and Sunday School on the right built 1895. 3. Beacon Stack (Photo courtesy J. Arthur Osborne) Beacon Stack was originally the engine house chimney of Carn Camborne Mine, which worked from 1814 to 1887. The building next to the stack is a water tank. The stack was reported as being given to Camborne Town in the 1920's by Ernie Olds, but was blown up on 23rd of July 1971 to make way for residential development. This caused public outrage, but to no avail - the Stack was gone before a preservation order could be obtained. 4. Beacon Old Chapel (pre 1895) (Photo courtesy J. Arthur Osborne) This Chapel stood on the site of the present Sunday School, which was built in 1895. 5. Beacon, 1926. Laying the mains water pipes. (Photo courtesy J. Arthur Osborne) Laying the mains water pipes in Beacon, c 1926. This photo was taken looking towards the Square and Camborne. Note Beacon Stack on the skyline. 6.
