Irish-born mineworkers in Cornwall in 1861.

The Cornwall Family History Society kindly supplied the data used on these pages, which was copied by them from the original hand-written 1861 census pages. Where there appears to be an error in the transcribing by the CFHS, the original census page has been scrutinised.  Where there has been an error in transcribing any name or place, this has been corrected.   Where the error occurs on the original census form (usually an incorrect spellingby the enumerator), this has been typed here as found, with a suggestion of what the correct surname may have been.  Included here are the children born to two Irish-born parents, where those children were born in the UK, and were working in the Cornish mines.  The CFHS has produced CDs of all Irish-born people living in Cornwall, for various census years.  These can be purchased online via their website: http://www.cornwallfhs.com
