After a long hot day, with lots of beer, the Walsden Barmy Army watch on at Rochdale, praying for victory to win the league title. Looks like a couple of Royd boys got in the photo though some how, Despite Gilly's immense hair trying its hardest to take up the whole picture. Looks like Ash is letting the Rochdale boys know what he thinks of em n all!! |

The Barmy Army can sense victory, but Rochdale won't go down without a fight. |

All the boys are on their toes, knowing that any slip ups could cost them the league title they have worked so hard to win. |

This nail bitter had us all looking back to the Burton Cup with the game coming down to the last ball. As you can see the Barmy Army were quick to invade the pitch and start the celebrations. |

After a full day on the beer Barmy Army leader Chris Marrow celebrates with the winning Walsden team. |

Bowler Chris Dewhirst & injured bowler Ross Stokes celebrate their contributions to winning the league, with Dewy bowling a full spell of 25 consecutive overs to defy the Rochdale batters and help bring the title to Walsden. |

Well what can I say Mick, it's been a long hard season but it looks like all your little meetings really did help put you and your team in Walsden's record books. Three cheers for Mick Butcher Captain Fantastic... |

With a final total of around 630 runs this season, Nelly has made a vital contribution for the Vilagers 2nd Xi title campaign. |

Bowler Dean Copping celebrates with Barmy after an unbelieveable spell of bowling which really did leave one Rochdale batsmen feeling sick about their loss. |

Gilly and Stokes may have both missed the final game at Rochdale but their contributions were vital to the teams success with Gilly eventually winning the Batting Averages for the 2nds. |

Well, it looks like Gilly is up to his old tricks, hogging the trophy and the beer!!! and the answer is "No Dan you can't have any of my beer!!" |

As you can see Chud and Gilly are setting up camp for the Walsden Barmy Army as we await the arrival of the rest of the gang. |

As you can see from the scoreboard we really did have Rochdale in the s**t at one point, but they batted extremely well to take our bowlers to the last over. |

Here we have Stokey making sure Gilly doesn't go far by doing one with his crutches. The Royd boys make an appearance too. |

Micky B tells us just how great his players are and how much of a long season it has been, but winning the title makes it all worth while. |

If you compare this photo with the above you will notice it has gone darker. Was you talking for a while Mick? The best thing about this day was, at dinner when we were all out for 147 and things were looking fairly grim. The umpires said to both captains, that the winning captain had to decide when to have the trophy presented. Mick responded by saying "We'll have it presented straight after the game then". Fantastic Mick! A big thank you also has to be said for Sir Elton John, who's song 'Are You Ready For Love' brought about Rochdale's downfall. xml:namespace prefix = o /> |

Just manage to catch the atmosphere really with this one, with Champagne flying all over the place. On the original of this photo you can just make out Stokey giving everyone a taste of vistory. |

The celebrations went on well in to the night, with the Barmy Army leader being the first casualty of the evening, ending up in bed before midnight(Poor show Marrow, very poor show!) I can honestly say though that I haven't seen the club so busy since we won the Wood Cup back in 1995. Well done boys you were brilliant! |
