The Walsden Barmy Army Members are featured on this section. Anyone who's profile is not on just let me know and I will sort it out.

Chris Marrow - Barmy Army Leader

Known by most players of Walsden Cricket Club as the 'One Man Barmy Army'
Marrow was made famous last season with his pan-antics against Littleborough. Well known for getting the lads going with
a few songs and some Barmy Army dancing.
You can find Marrow most match days at the bar or sat at the side of the field with a few beers.
Marrow also plays cricket for Walsden's 3rd XI which means he gets to watch most of Walsden's 1st and 2nd XI's biggest games.

Other news: He would like his pan replaced that Gar Hunter threw over the fence at Littleborough when he spat his dummy out.
Recent News: Experienced his greatest ever triumph on Wood Cup Final day. With a joint effort from BOTH Barmy Army Leaders Walsden's first team were cheered to victory against Heywood. Leaving the leaders declaring a massive moment in the history of the Barmy Army for both players and spectators alike.

Oliver Gilford - The other Barmy Army Leader

Gilly plays for Walsden's 2nd XI and played for the 1st XI regularly last season. Since he is playing most of the time he has to save his drinking and singing until after the match. However this doesn't stop him from teaming up with Marrow to write the Armies songs and sort out the official Walsden Barmy Army shirts.

Recent News: Was fantastic at the cup final with Marrow, the two noisiest men on Milnrow and joined the lads in the dressing room afterwards to sing a few songs for them.

Jono Spencer - Legend

Dean Copping aka El Beanio aka Length aka Sicknote aka Carling

Deano is one of the fastest bowlers at Walsden Cricket Club. He has been clocked at 75 MPH, and that is his bowling and not just in the works van he drives. Deano, also plays for Walsden's 2nd XI but with some quality bowling could be knocking on the door for a 1st XI spot. More importantly however he is also a proud member of our Barmy Army. He could also be classed as the best No.11 batter in the league as him and Gilly put on 94 runs for the last wicket against Middleton CC with Deano getting 48 and Gilly getting 99, both of them not out.

Recent News: Played in the Wood Cup Final this season, in which he received a winner's medal. Just a taste of things to come from this young quick bowler!

Seb Fontayne

Seb doesn't play cricket, Seb can't play cricket and Seb is most likely never going to play cricket for any team. However he does follow cricket, and that is what makes Seb a great Barmy Army follower. You might never see him smashing a four or bowling a team out but you will hear and see him cheering Walsden on to do so.

Recent New: Something about an incident in the disabled toilets of a Burnley night club, but lets not go into too much details! This recent news isn't recent anymore but its just to good to take off.

Further News: Seb is still a big fat dirty Blue (City) Fan. Have a word with yourself Seb!!

Simon Warburton - Warby

Warby is one our quieter members when it comes to the singsong. However he is a master DJ and a skillful salesman. He is the type of person who could sell you a fridge freezer, microwave and a new TV when all you wanted was some vacuum cleaner bags. He may be one of our quieter members in the Barmy Army but the way I see it is, the quiet one’s are the one’s you have got to watch!!

Recent News: Currently on holiday with the missus, Aiiiiye!

Ben Hudson - Huddy

Huddy has got to be without a doubt, one of the biggest drinkers around on his day. This guy can really hold his own when it comes to big drinking sessions. Hoping to see him with the Barmy Army for the majority of the season this year. Av it!!!

Recent News: Was Huddy's birthday on the cup final and what better way to celebrate than getting drunk and celebrating winning the Wood Cup for the first time in 9 years.

Nick Barker - Blocker

Blocker plays for Walsden's 1st XI and opens up the batting for them. The reason why we call him Blocker is fairly obvious, he blocks the ball quite a lot. When he isn't playing cricket you are most likely to find him on a big drinking session with the Barmy Army. When he gets going he is very vocal maybe even as vocal as our leaders Marrow and Gilly.

Recent News: Hit a hard worked 36 in the Wood Cup final to bring the trophy back home to the Villagers!

Fav. quote:-  You’ve changed

Chris Dewhirst - Hirsty

Hirsty plays cricket for Walsden 1st XI and spent the winter of 2002 playing in Australia with fellow 1st teamer Matthew Dawson. Dewy loves a song and a dance with the Barmy Army and must take credit for some of our best songs. After all he was with Marrow and Gilly when the Barmy Army official formed last season, after Walsden 1st XI beat Boro' away from home.

Recent News: Danced the night away with Wood Cup in hand! Well done Dewy - Heart & Soul of Walsden's 1st team!

Ross Stokes - Stokesy

Stokesy is by far one of the funniest people at the Club and in the Barmy Army. He is the 2nd XI's opening bowler and is well known for his comedy stunts on and off the field. A famous incident last year saw him run a batter out by heading the ball on to the stumps, and this year facing balls left handed when he is a right-handed batsman. Always up for a laugh and a beer.

Recent News: Stokesy has decided not to run for 3rd Xi captain at this present time. His services are now required elsewhere.

James Rawlinson - Mr Maximum

Ok I think Rawly can official claim his name back of Mr Maximum. After some quality performances with the bat lately, mainly his 89 in the twenty twenty competition and a few good scores in league games, Rawly will be looking forward to the upcoming Wood Cup Final against Heywood at Milnrow, on the 1st August 2004. Especially after his summer holiday on tour with our very own Barmy Army leader and Grandmaster Gadget. See what you could of missed out on if you had stayed at Mytholmeroyd mate.
Recent News: Hit the winning runs to claim the Wood Cup back for Walsden at Milnrow. Glad you didn't leave Walsden now mate? Mr. Maximum is back!

Matthew Dawson - Hog / Rodney

Now I know Hog is exiled but he's still a Walsden lad deep down and proved so at the Wood Cup Final after sitting with the boys and abusing the Heywood players. Cheers Mad Dog.

Andrew Butcher - Butch

Butch is going to be getting us all into shape this year with some knew exercise routines at practise. I've already put my name forward for beerbellystrectchology that is a reasonable old technique that has previously been unsuccessful. Then again the previous test subjects did include Big Nigel.

Recent News: Yet another Wood Cup winner who is without a doubt the best fielder in town. Wasn't required to bat or bowl on the day but his sheer presence in the field was enough to disrupt the Heywood batting line-up.

Tyson Illingworth - 1 Man Air Horn

Tyson earned his place in the Barmy Army at Harehill this year with his air horn antics, much to the delight of Littleborough batsmen Gar Hunter. Tyson was also made famous with his bowling for the under 18’s. Bowling the last over against Oldham in the Taylor Cup, which knocked them out and started Walsden on the path to retaining the Trophy for a third successive season.

Recent News: What can I say? Let the air horns rein. Even with a small amount of noise from the 'Heywood Massive' wasn't enough to put off our '1 man air horn' good lad Ty!
