This letter was distributed to Gayton School pupils on Friday 23rd March 2007. It states that swimming lessons were unable to carry on due to the swimming teachers absence, not due to the condition of the building or any other reason.

This is the letter that was given to Gayton School pupils to explain the above letter being written and to give supporters the information to be able to contact the BCAG. It also speaks of the All Party Working Group discussing the pool buildings survey findings on Monday 4th June 2007. We are not able to display the minutes from the meeting/s of the All Party Working Group as they are not available for public viewing.

Monday 25th June 2007

This letter was sent out to Gayton School pupils on Monday 25th June 2007. The attached letter accompanying this is below...

This is the letter of reply to Gayton School from Derby City Council. Keith Howkins is quick to state his apparent facts that all the children of Gayton can easily be accommodated elsewhere in the city, what he fails to realise and mention is that there is no way all Gayton School and other schools which were using the pool (over 500 pupils)can afford to send their children on buses to Queen's Leisure Centre/Moorways Sports Centre (costly in money as well as in time wasted travelling) . We also very much doubt that even if the schools could afford this, that ALL the children originally using Gayton Pool (most of which were within walking distance) would fit into the Queens Leisure Centre/Moorways Sports Centre timetable.
