To.....A walk on the wild highland way!
...on the West Highland Way... ...This site is a personal recollection and story of my trip or jaunt
on the West Highland Way and is not intended as a guide, though there is one or
two snippets in the story you may keep in mind if you intend to take up the challenge of
walking the "way". The "way" is roughly 100 miles long, from Milngavie on the outskirts of
Glasgow to Fort William on the west coast, taking you through the remnants of the Caledonian forest,
Loch Lomond, Glencoe, a view of the Arrochar Alps, the West Highland Railway, marshland, hillside and glens.
The terrain can be rough, steep, boggy, over tree roots, it also follows an old Drovers road, disused railway lines,
An old Military road and barely discernible tracks.
