Now here's the goods on me and the kind of person I'm looking for.

Basics: I'm a 47 years old white male. I'm divorced and not in a relationship. I'm hoping to meet you if you are aged about 37 - 54 years old and are single, separated, divorced or widowed and not in a relationship either.

Appearance & Physique: I'm reasonably attractive, but that's something you will have to decide for yourself. I would describe myself as smart but casual. I've got a full head of short light brown hair (which tends to go dark blond in summer). I have blue eyes. I'm 5' 8" tall, slim build, weigh 10 st. 10 lbs. (approximately), no prominent muscles to speak of but I do take regular exercise and no pot belly. I'm told I've got a nice bum! I am not looking for somebody who is a physical type - I believe that beauty really is in the eye of the beholder.

Health: I'm in excellent health. I don't smoke, however I do drink socially. I would prefer it if you didn't smoke either, however I don't mind about your drinking habits (in moderation!).

Family: my family is part English and part Irish. I grew up in the Pennines, I went to school in Lancashire and university in Wales, and lived and worked in Yorkshire ever since. I have a 7 year old daughter, and I share her custody equally with her mum. I don't mind if you have children or not as I do like them in your turn I would expect you to accept both of us as a family.

Home: we live in a modern cottage on the edge of the Dales, north of Leeds. We recently moved and we chose here mainly because of the schooling opportunities. If we progressed to going out together it would work best if you lived somewhere in West Yorkshire or the Skipton - Harrogate area of North Yorkshire.

Job: I'm a manager for a large international company with offices in Leeds and I'm financially solvent.

Politics, Religion & Astrology: Politics isn't important in my life, and I am fairly middle of the road on most issues. I don't mind what your views are so long as you are not too extreme. I don't believe in religion or astrology, but for the record I'm an Aries. I don't mind what religion you are, just don't try converting me!

Sport: I don't do any sport except fell running - which I do only for exercise (or at least I do when I'm feeling energetic and virtuous!).However if you play sports I would happily take an interest and support you in what you do.

Culture: I enjoy watching a good film, either in the cinema or at home - if it is well plotted, acted directed with style. I also enjoy a range of music from 60s Brit pop, through 70s Rock Opera, and 80s Punk to 90s Techno. I also like Bhangra, Cajun and Irish music. I think that's quite a range! I'm not into classical, country, jazz, opera or soul, but I'm open minded and willing to be educated. I am a light weight and occasional reader. I wouldn't say I appreciate high culture much, though I do like modern art and architecture and trips to the theatre. However if this is your passion I'm more than happy to be enlightened.

Pastimes: I love spending time with my daughter. It's hard work but good fun being both a Dad and a surrogate Mum to Elizabeth. I enjoy trips to the seaside where the beach, the harbor and the sea have always fascinated me - taking Lizzie is a good excuse!. I am also interested in history - I find everything about it fascinating because I believe it is history that has created us as we are now. I like gentle strolls in the countryside or serious hikes in the hills - both can be fun. Alternatively staying in and chats by a cozy fire or a nice country pub. I'm definitely not into clubbing or pubbing. What I like best though is being with somebody I care about and sharing at least some leisure activities would be a good way to develop a relationship and so if you had similar interests, at least in part, I think this might work well for us.

Animals: We don't have any pets at present, but don't mind any you might have if they are well behaved.

Personality: I am very loyal to one person. I am thoughtful, reasonably intelligent and try to be articulate and sensitive to the needs of others.. I am careful, kind, straightforward and willing to share things, thoughts and feelings and be supportive when needed. I would say I was tactile, emotional and romantic too. I have a good sense of humour as well. I like children and get on well with them, probably comes from being quite juvenile myself! o the down side I'm not particularly spontaneous or adventurous and I'm also very tidy minded. I suppose I'm looking for a partner with similar values to me and who does not play mind games, who is positive in their outlook and who doesn't want to change me into something I'm not.

Aspirations: I've three main goals in my life at the moment. I want to bring up my daughter to be a happy, contented and accomplished person, I want to do my job well, get results and make a contribution to the team I work with and the company that employees me. Most importantly in this context, I also want to find a long term partner - who I hope would become both my lover and my best friend. I would hope any mature relationship woould be able to meet your aspirations as well if our goals were compatible.
