Q: What types of music do Caragan deal with?
We deal with all types of music. However, bear in mind that major record labels
are more likely to be interested if there is a large market for your chosen
genre.
That's not to say you only have to submit "middle of the road" pop though. The
music industry is always on the look out for stuff that's new and interesting!
Q: Do my demos have to be broadcast quality?
No, you do not have to spend thousands of pounds in a top studio to record your
demos! The most important factor is that the music comes across well. However,
whilst home recordings are fine for our purposes, you should ensure that the
recording quality does not make listening painful (e.g. "I can't make out the
lead vocal due to tape hiss!"). Remember, we may well play your music to top
music executives so spend a bit of time making it as good as you can.
Q: I am a representative of many musicians (e.g. a manager, producer etc.).
Can I submit demos on behalf of my clients?
Yes, you can!
Q: How do I submit music to Caragan?
Submitting demos to Caragan couldn't be easier! You just fill in one of our
simple forms and post the demo to us along with a cheque.
Q: Does Caragan take a percentage of my deal?
No. Once we have brought you together with a record label executive then that's
where our involvement in the process ends. When we take your material to a label
we give them your contact details. They can then liase with you directly at
their discretion
If your music is not deemed suitable for forwarding then one of the industry
experts in the Caragan Team writes a personal and friendly report detailing why
we took this decision and explaining how to improve your chances of forwarding
