Wilf's Sims Stuff: Other sites

Other sites hosting objects I've worked on

SimSnobs

http://www.simsnobs.com

If you're looking for skins and objects that have a slightly "old world" feel to them, this is the place to go to - though there's much more there than simply that. The site features the work of some excellent artists, and I've been privileged to work with one of them - Latricia - on a few projects. It's a pay site, but there are also a few free objects there as well.

Red Dragon Chinese Restaurant - interiorThe Red Dragon Restaurant - the best place in Sim City for Sino-Welsh cuisine (the proprietor lived for a time in Simllanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch). All skins and sprites by Latricia; the podium is a cloned expensive restaurant podium, hacked so that it has its own complement of NPCs.

Tea Garden BarThe Tea Garden Bar. Relax with a slug of scotch after a hard day's shopping. This is a clone of the expensive Vacation bar, hacked so that it has its own NPCs. Sprites by Latricia.
Tea Cake CartThe Tea Cake Cart. Buy a scone to go with your afternoon 'panaid. This started life as the red hot dog cart, but was re-sprited by Latricia, and hacked by me so that it had its own clerk.
Auto FireplaceAuto Fireplaces are a variation of the Safe Fireplaces that you can find in the Objects section of my site. They light automatically after dark, and go out shortly before dawn. As an added bonus, they are safe to use: they won't burn down your house to the ground if you install them. There are a selection of them on the SimSnobs website, incuding this excellent Victorian style fireplace by Latricia.

OldRocker's Hard To Find Sims Stuff

http://www.oldrocker.com

OldRocker was kind enough to host some of the first items that I hacked. He also hosts a few rare objects by the likes of Ashikaga, Bluegenie2 and Duddly, and promises more stuff to come in the future. Worth a visit, if only to see what Mrs Rocker looks like :-)

Uber Sims

http://www.geocities.com/ubersims

Well actually, there's nothing of mine there. But I've got a feeling in my water that sooner or later, something familiar will turn up in the "Party Hosts" section...

The artist has made a few interesting skins for the infamous "Uber Project" meshes (from the late, lamented Wages Of Sim site), and promises more to come in the future. This is definitely an adult-themed site: take heed of the warning on the opening page.

SimJocks

http://www.geocities.com/simjocks

Och aye, the noo. Haggises, cabers, sporrans, kilts and deep-fried Mars bars - you won't find any here. This is "Jocks" in the American sense of the word, ie. disgustingly fit students who spend their time becoming proficient on the athletics field, instead of getting drunk and doing embarrassing things, like normal students should. Hang on, though... who's this in the Objects section? It's the Drunken College Boy, based on Tarquin the Dancer! Good to know that ill behaviour by students is a worldwide phenomenon.

Seriously, though, this site has some well-made athletic male meshes, together with a good selection of skins for them. Definitely worth a look if you're bored of the usual male body shapes.

BlueWorld Sims

http://people.freenet.de/BlueSpirit53/index.htm

This is the home for creations by BlueSpirit53, a talented new object creator and skinner from Germany (use Babel Fish if you need a translation). Although there's not a lot on the site at the moment, there are some interesting goodies in the offing, including some variations on the Version 3 Dancers from this site.

Hacking resources

Blueprint

http://blueprint.thesimsresource.com

Home of such essential programs as IFF Pencil, Strings Scavenger and MenuEdit (though see below...).

IFF Edit Homepage

http://iffedit.simgateway.com

Programs written by the hugely talented Tom van Dijk. Here's where you'll find one of the most essential tools for object hacking, namely IFF Pencil 2. Forget Script Station... if you want to hack Sims objects, this is the program you need.

Paladin's Place

http://www.simwardrobe.com

Lots of good utilities and interesting objects on this site. Where would we all be without Sim Categoriser?

Transmogrifier Home Page

http://www.lushcreations.com/Transmogrifier.htm

Transmogrifier. What more can you say? Except "Pretty please, Mr Hopkins, update it so it'll list the objects from later expansion packs". Don't forget to pick up your magic cookie while you're there...
