Wilf's Sims Stuff: Objects

These are objects that behave differently to the standard Maxis ones - with one or two exceptions, they haven't been re-coloured, hence the lack of pictures on this page. Feel free to use them in any way you want, but please have the courtesy to credit me in your readme file if you modify and redistribute them. You'll find the most recent stuff at the top of the list.

Replacement Maxis pool ladder

A slightly hacked replacement for the Maxis pool ladder. On leaving the pool, your Sims will get dressed, instead of remaining in their swimming costumes. I know it looks slightly bizarre when they immediately head for the diving board and strip down to their swimming costumes once more, but then again, it looks even more bizzare when they spend the rest of the day wandering around half-dressed. Just my opinion.

Superstar Auto Fires

A set of fireplaces that are safe to use in the home. No longer is lighting the fire as risky as playing Russian Roulette with a half-loaded revolver. As an added bonus, these fires will light automatically in the early evening, and burn out towards dawn.

The "Health & Efficiency" pool collection for Superstar

A diving board, a pool slide and a pair of ladders which you can use to make swimming pools on naturist lots, or "skinny dipping" pools on ordinary lots: the overall behaviour depends on the ladder you choose.

Sims will strip off before using the diving board or pool slide, if they're not naked already. If you use the "Health & Efficiency" pool ladder, then your Sims will stay naked when they leave the pool; however, if you use the "Skinny Dipper's" ladder, then your Sims will get dressed. Also, Sims will strip off if they enter the pool using either of these ladders.

Note: To get these objects to work correctly in Superstar, you will need to install the Patch for Excessive Maxis Prudery from the patches page

Neighbour Attractor

Instant party! Put these balloons outside the front door, and you'll soon have a swarm of visitors to your house, without all that tedious mucking about with phones or teleporters. Similar to the Maxis party balloons, except the crowd that's attracted is a bit more random, and isn't limited to neighbourhood Sims. I originally hacked this to help me test objects that needed a crowd (I hate testing on Downtown lots: all that preliminary phoning for a cab and waiting around is just so tedious...), but you may find it useful if you have a "Non-Stop Party" house in your neighbourhood.

Multi Strength Coffee Machine

Coffee machines are useful for coping with the "jet lag" that your Sims experience after visiting downtown, vacation and community lots. Sometimes, though, you want a bit more of an energy lift than the standard Maxis one gives you. This espresso machine normally behaves like the Maxis one, but you can also direct a Sim to drink a range of stronger brews, the strongest of which maximises you Sim's energy level.

The "Betty Swollocks" Exercise Machine

Have fun while gaining body points on this exercise machine. Also works as a fun object on downtown, vacation and community lots, so you can build your own gymnasium if you want to. Make sure that there's a shower nearby, though, as your Sims will get a bit sweaty while exercising on the machine.

Vacation Easel V2

An easel for use on Vacation Island. Every easel I've seen suffers from the problem that unless you're quick to sell the painting after it's been created, the painting gets stuck on the easel, and the easel is no longer useable. With this easel, the painting is sold automatically once it's been finished, so freeing the easel for another user. (Now works with Unleashed installed.)

"No Pets" Door Frame V2

Want to keep pets away from part of a lot? By the judicious use of pepper around the base of a Maxis maple door frame, I've created an entrance that sims will pass through, but sim pets won't use.

A set of fireplaces that don't cause death, mayhem and destruction when used in your homes. Low maintenance, as they're permanently lit.

Pay door

Make money from your neighbours! Every time a neighbour, townie or vacationer passes through this door in one direction your family's bank balance will increase by §500. Made on request for "Sue". What on earth could she want this for?

Beach Shower

An open shower that Sims aren't in the least embarrassed to use, even if there are other Sims about. You can use it to make public beach showers on beach lots, or communal shower rooms in gymnasiums or crowded houses.

The "Health & Efficiency" Hot Tub

Hacked specially for use on your "naturist" lots. All sims, even shy ones, get in naked, and they won't get dressed when they get out of the tub. Warning! If you are offended by cartoon nudity, then please make sure that you haven't "accidentally" downloaded and installed one of the blur-removal patches that are available.
