The Cyndig and Keit nations are arranged around the Inner Sea, which flows out into the Great Ocean in the north-east. The fair-haired Cyndig people occupy four nations on the drier north shore, and four other nations on the more fertile south shore. The darker-haired Keit folk live towards the west of the south shore, particularly around the Wutzjaif Basin. The Keits and Cyndigs resemble each other more closely than any other two races and, despite the difference in hair colour, even look quite alike. They worship the same gods, although the Cyndigs consider Taranus and his progeny to be the most important, while the Keits revere Ishkana, their great mother goddess, above all others.
The most important of the Cyndig nations is Byffen, which comprises of two islands near the north shore. Its capital is Delmop, arguably the greatest city in the world. From Delmop, the Emperor rules, to varying degrees, many of the other lands around the Inner Sea.
In the mountains to the north west is Lake Chaukad, around which live the Chaukads, a race of very pale-skinned people, who are best known for their lack of belief in any gods. Many consider them humourless folk, who deserve whatever retribution the gods must be planning.
To the south of the Inner Sea is the Great River Nation, which actually comprises of numerous independent city-states. The people here are of the Kallazin race, the remnants of an older civilization, predating the arrival of the Keits and Cyndigs. Also of this race are the Gentari, a travelling people, whose brightly-painted caravans can be seen in every land. At the mouth of the Great River is the nation of Schatan, whose people have an apparently pathological dislike of the Great River Nation.
To the west of the Great River Nation is the Steppe, and to the east, the Desert. These are home to a nomadic race of warriors who call themselves the True People. Until recently they had very little to do with anyone else, but about fifty years ago they began invading the largest Keit nation, Abnain, and the Great River Nation.
To the far south, where the Great Rivers rise, lies the land of Kaajokoo. This is the home of a mysterious race called the Yoju.
