Ylbin is my own country, where I have spent all but a few years of my life. It was more or less untouched by the incursions of the True People and is still a significant power in the Inner Sea. A forest-covered land, Ylbin is unusual in that the capital, Kosmain, is not on the coast. This has possibly allowed it to survive many sea-based attacks, though it is perhaps surprising that Ylbin itself became a major maritine power.

The elderly High Lord Theomund rules in Kosmain, and has much more success in than his counterpart, Taleich, in Vellioc, at keeping the ambitions of his nobles in check. Like Vellioc, Ylbin has quarries of obsidian and alabaster, though it is not as noted for them. It is a significant producer of olives, and the oil produced from them, citrus fruit, as well as of a number of fortified wines (its normal wines are not of great quality).

The city of Teissbin on the coast, is famous for the magnificent Temple of Ishkana, where I live and work. The Temple is sited a few miles west of the city itself and is regarded by many, myself included, as the greatest construction in the world, a masterpiece of pillars and form. Teissbin, mainly due to the influence of the Temple, is largely autonomous. The High Lord has very little say in her affairs.
