Introduction

Wombwell Thespians Amateur Dramatic Society was founded in 1926 and has performed three per year in nearly every year since then.

Constitution

The Society is a registered charity (#1013214) which aims to provide local people with a creative way to support Wombwell community life.

The official business of the society is conducted at monthly committee meetings, and at the AGM, where members elect the officers and other committee members.

As well as the elected members, the committee also contains co-opted members (in particular, the producers of the current year's plays).

The selection of a play for performance starts at 'readings', open to all members. The final decision about the play and casting is by the committee, following recommendations by the producer.
