Welcome to Word Of Mouth, Independent Punk E-Zine for Brighton
and the South East of England.
The aim of this site is to make
people aware of the underground punk scene in the UK, the South and specifically
Brighton, and to increase awareness of all the superb small bands that are
overlooked. Ill do my best to provide info on where to check out such bands and
have useful links to anything of interest.
The majority of Brighton DIY shows put on
are held at the Freebutt, a small Pub/Venue with a superb atmosphere and a good
mix of people, it it fairly common to see punk, hardcore or ska bands playing
here weekly, generally with local bands as part of the bill. Due
to extremely hard working DIY promoters such as Just One Life putting on
shows non-profitably it is rare to pay over £4 at any of the small pub
venues.
I think its important that there is a way
to communicate about the scene and bands involved, to share opinions and let
everyone know about upcoming shows. I am happy to include anything that may be
relevant and without any input from you lot out there it is hard to keep this
site up and running.
Most importantly just get to a local show
and enjoy some quality live music and support your scene!
