CD Reviews
The first Release on moon ska Europe for this Glasgow 5 piece, this is 11 tracks of good ol’ British Ska Punk, yes that’s ska punk, but not as the bouncy, suburban fat wreck kids know it. This is influenced by good old british ska and punk bands like bands like the clash and the specials, very intelligent lyrics if you can work them out, theres harsh vocals and these guys look and sound like they were born to wear tartan, spikey hair and spit at policemen. They were once named by Rancid as the best thing the UK scene has got, its easy to see why. I Believe this is the second release from this bristol 4 piece, it combines catchy ska with energetic punk rock, a familiar format i know but Kenisia arent just another ska punk band, theres something else to them. it may be the distinctive vocals, excellent riffs, raw energy, or maybe just the fact that it makes me want to get up and dance. They have excellent stage precence and put on a great live show too. the songs are well written and the timing is perfect, which cant be easy as there are lots of tempochanges, some pretty fast playing and some brilliant drumming. what else can i say, i really like this band and they should tour down here more often. |
