1) Welcome! and Welcome Back!

All 3 new sites that had applied to the webring were admitted. Here are their locations, and the vote tallies.

Unger's Wonderful World of Progressive Rock - http://www.geocities.com/sunsetstrip/backstage/8250/
NOs - 0

Ian's Music Reviews - http://ca.geocities.com/iansmusicreviews/
NOs - 0

Hog Heaven - http://home.no/emilsmusikk/
NOs - 2

Welcome back to the following old friends as well!

CosmicBen - http://members.aol.com/cosmicben/page/
Mark Prindle - http://www.markprindle.com/
Guy's Music Reviews - http://www.guypetersreviews.com/
John McFerrin - http://students.imsa.edu/~stoo/

Hopefully, nobody has been left out unintentionally. I've written to the Musical Box after they asked me how to re-apply, but have not heard back. As of right now, the Webring has 30 members. Which brings me to...

2) Banners

Don't forget to put up the WRC webring banners! Otherwise, your site simply takes traffic in, without sending it back out. Your siteid is assigned by Bravenet, and is also visible here: http://pub39.bravenet.com/sitering/show.php?usernum=3321505571

We've already had one member send a reminder about this, so it's not just me being a bother. Questions? Need help? Write to wrcwebring@lycos.co.uk.

4) Newsletter

And now for something more pleasant. I've asked Paul Roy (who volunteered) to look into finding some sort of newsletter script or service or whatever, so that we can communicate easier - i.e. allow people to just send things in and rebroadcast them. Also, if non-webmasters want to find out what's going on, this would be a useful tool. If anyone would like to help him, or has any ideas, contact the offical email, or Paul at <proy1@comcast.net>.

In the meantime, if people have things to pass along, you can either
1) Just email the official account OR
2) Start putting together a new bulletin on the WRC Homepage, now that you have the password

You might even send a new bulletin out if it's the end of the week or so, and just add your things to it!

5) WRC Updates

There is an existing page, http://wrcupdates.tripod.com/cgi-bin/wrcupdates.html which you can use to display any updates to your webpage. It's open to all members of the webring, so if you want to use it, please email the offical account, and you will be added. The addition page - http://wrcupdates.tripod.com/WSUP.html - is not integrated with anything else, so I'll add an account for you.

Also, if anyone wants to either add commentary to these pages, or summarize it for message boards, please do so! I can show you how to add commentary (it's a touch tricky).

6) Community Involvement

We also approved of allowing non-webmasters to have a voice in WRC affairs (NOs - 1). If anyone has any suggestions on how to do this, please let me know. We might try to have polls, or something. Again, suggestions appreciated.

This brings this newsletter to a close. I might add that if anyone wants to get to work on fixing up the homepage - go to it! I will now return to writing about anti-SLAPP lawsuits, and reading about the Fundamentals of Federal Income Tax. I will NOT be sending next week's newsletter - as I have exams. Feel free to do yourself!
