Wrinkle Prevention 101Whether you're a man or a woman, once you hit your thirties, you are likely to spend some time gazing at the mirror and wondering if these are the first signs of wrinkles that you are seeing there? Yes, vain creatures that we all are, we prefer to keep your youthful looks for as long as possible. Forever even, if possible. That is why Anti Aging is such a huge field today, both in terms of scientific research and in commercial terms as well. Many would take the further step and try plastic surgery too, in an effort to slow down the effects of time. Well, this would be a painful and costly measure, good for some, but maybe not for all. There are other ways for wrinkle prevention too, some that are cheap and more safe. You don't have to go the Botox or Collagen injections route when you can keep to some basic rules instead – Avoid exposure to the sun's radiation – while they may have been able to stop the hole in the ozone layer from expanding, the rays of the sun are still one of the most harmful things for your skin. It literally breaks down your skin as it hits it, in the molecular level. As this adds up, you eventually see the breaks in the skin in the form of wrinkles. Always wear sunscreen, summer or winter, when you leave the house. Get a good and effective sunscreen and make sure you put on an added layer several times during the day. Avoid Smoking – the toxins in the smoke are harmful for your skin. They wreck havoc both externally (as the smoke moves across your face) and internally too, as those bad chemicals move around your body. If you smoke, quit now, and not just to prevent wrinkles. Avoid any exposure to smoke and make sure that no one smokes around you. Passive smoking is just as harmful for you. Eat Healthy – Make sure your skin gets all the vitamins and minerals it gets from the inside. Fancy creams don't cut it – it's nutrients that your skin needs. Avoid drastic shifts in weight as well. The yo yo effect is not good for your skin. Exercise your facial muscles – Last but not least, if you are serious about wrinkle prevention, exercise your face. This would help not only improve the external quality and smoothness of your skin, but also tighten up the underlying muscles and make your whole face look tighter. You know how working out in the gym can transform the way your body looks? The same principle works here and it's just as effective. If you work out with your face, using the right exercises and the correct method and routine, you will see a difference. Others will see a difference as well. Don't just go and make faces at the mirror though. This is not the way to do that. Get a good guide and work according to their instructions. Have a regime and stick to it, and you too will see results. |
