Lighting in Pembrey

This photo shows the last two elderly Revo (C13723?) 90W "Dalek" lanterns in Pembrey as you leave towards Kidwelly on the A484. The lantern pictured in the foreground is one of two with very long brackets, as they reach over a parking bay beside the road. In the background you can just about see a new Philips MA90 lantern with gear, which is also attached to a telegraph pole with a bracket, and probably (originally with an Revo lantern?) part of the same installation. After this, Mk 1 MA90s on metal columns light the road as you leave Pembrey.

This photo shows both lights reaching over the parking bay. The lantern in the foreground is the same one shown in the above picture, taken from the opposite direction - this time looking towards Pembrey.

Update: Sometime before October 2004, the second lantern in this photo was replaced with a Philips MA90 with integral gear.

A close-up of the light shown in the background of the top photo. This shorter style of bracket is the most common in Pembrey and Burry Port. This photo clearly shows the covering of rust on the bracket.

.A close up of one of the two lights shown in the second photo. Again the rust on the bracket is clearly visible.
