Swansea is the largest city in the South West Wales area (it's actually the only city - unless you count St. David's in Pembrokeshire which has a cathedral). Llanelli is a medium sized town on the South Wales coast between Swansea and Carmarthen. Swansea is actually a great place to spot older street lighting, especially of the low pressure sodium variety. As well as some older SOX lanterns on the main roads through Swansea, there are plenty of unusual fittings in the residential areas. There is a wide range of street lighting in Llanelli, with elderly SOX lanterns in the surrounding residential areas and modern heritage style SON lighting in the town centre. |
